*Our Middle School Junior Coach & Camp Program includes assisting as a junior coach for 4 hours/day and playing for 4 hours/day with their peers as a camper.
All camps are filled with a variety of great outdoor (and occasional indoor) activities. We break our campers into groups by age and interest. We play sports, hike, climb trees, build dams, visit the police horse stables, tromp through the sand dunes of Ocean Beach, explore Land’s End and Sutro Baths and play games in the woods such as capture the flag. Our older campers also venture out on excursions in our popular Big White Van to nearby destinations. We also sing songs, hold group social circle times and laugh a lot.
We also have access to a nearby private gymnasium and facility that can visit when mother nature isn't cooperating. Our campers can do arts & crafts, play basketball and take cooking classes.
This is a true camp- a camp built and grown by the thousands of children who have attended over the past 5 years. Over the course of a day, children have many different options to get involved in various activities, and they also have opportunities for “self-directed play”. The children create and develop great play-based activities and games that are of their own creation, not ours. At the end of a day at Kids Outdoor Club, your child will have gained confidence through social play and will have been exposed to something new. For information on what to bring and our general schedule each day, click here.
Our coaching staff is made up of experienced adults who are teamed up with college and high school coaches. We also have a Middle School Junior Coach program that enables some of our older camps to assist our coaching teams as junior coaches. Our coaches are all energetic, experienced with kids, safe and lots of fun. Our campers absolutely dig our coaches. We now employ 7 high school and college coaches who have been coaching with us for over 3 years. To read more about our coaches, click here.
Coach to camper ratios range from 4:1 to 9:1, depending upon the age and activity. For example, a group of pre-school children going on a walk to nearby Stow Lake will have at least two adult coaches for a maximum of 10 kids. A soccer game of 15 children at Speedway Meadow would also include two coaches.
During any camp week, we will do some (or all!) of these exciting activities:

- Flag Football
